In
response to my request for “ONE question that keeps you awake as an
HR professional”, I received a question from one of my followers on the
challenge that she is having with recruiting the right candidate(s) for her
company. In today’s post, I will be addressing this question.

Being Your Best At Work Has It's Reward
By Yemi Faseun
Good evening good people. Let me share something quickly before bed time.
Something played out of Zig Ziglar's book right before my eyes yesterday morning.
I read "What I Learnt On my Way to the Top" many years ago and one of the first stories, if not the veryfirst one he shared was about a young boy who worked in a store, during one of the World Wars. Anytime Zig visited the store, this little boy was always dashing out to another store across the street, apparently to get stocked out items for customers. Zig concluded that if the store owner (current employer) did not give the guy a raise, another will.

The Interviewer’s Nightmare
Few weeks back, I participated in interviewing
some candidates for an entry level role. I love to do this regularly, as it
gives me an opportunity to briefly teach them some basic skills and share
advice on how to succeed at interviews either midway or at the end of the
session.

Practical New Year’s Resolution
The beginning of
each year brings with it the ritual of people wanting to make resolutions of
what they do not want to continue with, and also setting goals
of what they would like to achieve in the New Year. Research has also shown
that most times, people fail to keep to the resolutions made and go back to their
old ways thereby failing to achieve the desired change and progress in the New
Year.
