Cold Calling and Career Success


Have you been sending cold emails or messages to senior professionals on #LinkedIn or any other social media platform who can help your career without hearing from them?

I have good news for you.

Don't be disappointed.

"Cold calling results in about a 1-3% success rate for getting an initial appointment and it's generally abusive to both parties. When that same call is made with a referral, the rate jumps up to 40% and even much higher when that referral comes from within the company."

I stumbled on the above 👆 quote.

Two things to learn from the quote:

1. Let the worse case response rate determine the total number of people you should reach out to.

2. Go through your LinkedIn networks to see if you are connected to someone who is connected to someone who is connected to the people you are trying to reach out to. Even at that expect a 40% success rate.

The defeated is the one who has given up. Do not give up, and success would be yours certainly. Proverbs 22:29, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

    For my podcasts, i do alot of cold calling especially on LinkedIn. I've had my NOs and I've had my Yes. NO for me simply means next opportunity or try again in selling the value proposition.

    I'm always learning on it and moving.
